Born on April 22, 1973, in Tepic, Nayarit, Antonio Echevarría García is the son of Don Antonio Echevarría Domínguez and Martha Elena García Gómez, prominent entrepreneurs and politicians in Nayarit. He married María Luisa Aguirre, with whom he has two children, Luisa and Antonio.
In 1996, he graduated from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Accounting. He also studied languages at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and completed an Advanced Public Management Diploma at ÚNICO University.
Since the age of seventeen, Antonio began his business journey. In 1996, he assumed his first position as General Manager in the private sector, leading Impulsora de Espectáculos Álica, the operating company of the Monumental Plaza de Toros de Don Antonio, the Nicolás Echevarría Pérez bullring, and the Los Tres Toños rodeo arena. He has founded numerous related companies, supported by Alica Group, which currently generate over 500 direct jobs. In 2005, he became Vice President of the Board of Directors of Alica Group and later assumed the position of General Director.
Leaving a Mark
During his tenure as Director, he expanded the iconic Jardines de San Juan brand from Tepic to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. He also promoted the development of the Bello Recuerdo brand to offer dignified funeral services, addressing the needs of diverse social sectors. This period saw the remodeling of many Alica Group companies and its corporate offices, the complete reengineering of Polo Sur Hielo, and investments in developing new residential areas and land reserves for housing construction.
In the social sphere, he achieved certification from the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI), meeting indicators of institutionalism and transparency through Fundación Álica de Nayarit A.C.. He also promoted initiatives for justice in the agricultural sector, fostering agro-industrial projects and creating the industrial agro-park where FRUTÁLICA is now located. Among employees, educational levels increased through training programs in collaboration with INEA and Alica Group.
Outside of Alica Group, his business knowledge has led him to serve as President, Secretary, and Board Member of various companies and public institutions. From 2017 to 2021, he served as the Constitutional Governor of the State of Nayarit, where his administration was characterized by accountability, zero tolerance for corruption, and the fight against impunity in the state.

His passion for sports and charrería led him to serve as Deputy General Secretary of the Mexican Federation of Charrería A.C. and President of the Union of Charro Associations of Nayarit, roles he carried out with dedication and commitment. Leading Rancho El Quevedeño, he became National Champion of Cala de Caballo in 2010 and achieved the title of Grand Champion at the LXVVII National Charro Congress and Championship Aguascalientes 2021.
Known as AEG by his initials, he is recognized as a decisive leader and a person skilled at building lasting friendships. One of his guiding principles is loyalty, and his practical mindset has enabled him to grow in various aspects of life, always proudly representing Alica Group.
