Former director

Date of birth:
March 12, 1949

José Luis Navarro Hernández was born on March 12, 1949, in the city of Tepic, Nayarit. Son of Mr. Álvaro Navarro Sandoval, a highly recognized automotive mechanic, and Mrs. María Herminia Hernández Álvarez, a hardworking woman beloved by those around her. Both were exemplary role models for the Navarro Hernández family. He married Mrs. María Aurora García Salazar, with whom he had two children, José Luis (+) and Karla.

He completed his professional studies at the University of Guadalajara, graduating in 1972 as an Electrical Engineer. During his time as a student, he supported himself financially by repairing boat engines, a skill he learned from his father. He completed his social service at the Zapopan Thermoelectric Plant and his professional internships at the CFE in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

In 1973, he returned to Tepic after being invited to work at a maquiladora specializing in electronic components. He worked at the plant for nearly eight years, starting as a production supervisor and advancing through roles such as Production Manager, Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and eventually being offered the position of General Manager, which he declined to join Alica Group.

In 1980, he joined Alica Group at the invitation of his brother, C.P. José Álvaro Navarro Hernández, a founding partner of the group. He took on the role of administrator for Coca-Cola freight trucks, also providing preventive and corrective maintenance services for vehicles from branch agencies.

During his tenure, he secured permits for public freight transportation with company-owned vehicles, reducing reliance on external freight services and workshops. With the support and trust of all partners, he established a dedicated transportation fleet and a comprehensive mechanical workshop at what are now the facilities of Fletes Alica SA de CV. The company became a reference in freight transportation in Nayarit, known for its well-maintained vehicles and low accident rates. He takes pride in hearing people say, “Coca-Cola trucks never break down on the road.”

In 2000, he ventured into politics during the administration of C.P. Antonio Echevarría Domínguez, serving as Secretary of Planning for the State Government. In this role, he managed and promoted programs aimed at fostering economic and social development in the state. He resigned in 2005 to rejoin Alica Group.

At the end of 2005, he was appointed General Director of Alica Group, where he contributed to strengthening communication channels between the Board of Directors, Management, and Company Departments. He established an open-door policy and distinguished himself through strategic decision-making, business control, and a constant pursuit of new challenges.

José Luis Navarro Hernández is a man of strong values and family principles, characterized by honesty, responsibility, perseverance, frankness, innovation, and perfectionism. He possesses the rare ability to anticipate risks and clearly express his point of view. He has a deep love for nature and, above all, a profound affection for his family.

His greatest satisfaction is being able to look back with pride on his achievements and contributions throughout his productive years, while also instilling in his daughter and grandchildren the values of honesty, gratitude, and respect to shape them into integral, patriotic individuals.
